Dear Families

It is hard to believe we are already halfway through the term. A strong reminder of this is seeing the work teachers are doing to complete assessments in preparation for report writing. We believe that good learning grows from good information. That’s why data collection and assessment play such an important role in the way we support every student.

Assessment is about understanding each learner’s strengths, identifying areas where they may need extra support, and celebrating the progress they make along the way. The information gathered helps teachers tailor their teaching, adjust programs, and provide targeted support.

Most importantly, we value data because we value our students. Every piece of information helps us make better decisions, create more engaging learning experiences, and ensure that each child is moving forward.

Data is a tool for nurturing success, so working in partnership with families is essential to deeply knowing our students. We welcome you to share information, insights and your own data with us any time, so we can continue to update Personalised Plans for Learning (PPL) throughout the year.

We recently hosted a PATH (Planning for Alternative Tomorrow with Hope) evening for families to support with the planning for life post-school. It was a wonderful evening of rich conversation between parents, past and present, and also two incredible past students. Watch out for photos from this fantastic evening in future newsletters. A big thank you to Kylie Karvelis for leading the work that made this night possible.

I am very fortunate to be attending some Leadership Professional Learning in Canberra for 3 days this week, and I look forward to sharing my learnings with you when I return.

Kind regards

Cathy
