Supporting Your Child in Science and Technology (K–6)

Our Science and Technology curriculum from Kindergarten to Year 6 sparks curiosity and builds critical thinking through hands-on learning. Younger students (K–2) begin by exploring the natural world—observing plants, animals, weather, and the sky—while developing problem-solving and digital skills. Older students (Years 3–6) deepen their understanding by investigating the human body, Earth’s landforms, space, and sustainable resource use, as well as designing and testing solutions with digital technologies.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives are woven throughout the curriculum, enriching students’ connection to the environment and cultural knowledge.

Parents and carers play a vital role in their child’s education. You can help at home by encouraging scientific vocabulary, discussing natural phenomena, enjoying puzzles and building activities together, and nurturing curiosity about discoveries and inventions.
