Beauty & The Beast

Jr Production

Principal Foreward by: Luke Ventieri

Welcome, dear guests, to Warrandyte High School’s 2026 production of Beauty and the Beast Jr. A tale as old as time, brought to life by a cast and crew whose talent, dedication, and spirit have transformed our stage into an enchanted world.

This evening, we invite you to leave the ordinary behind and step through the doors of a provincial village, into a mysterious castle where teacups dance, candlesticks sing, clocks keep perfect rhythm, and where true beauty is discovered in the most unexpected places.

Each year, our school production provides an opportunity for students to challenge themselves, discover new talents, and create something truly special together. What you will see on stage is the culmination of many months of rehearsals, learning, laughter, perseverance, and teamwork. Every line delivered, every note sung, every spotlight cue, and every costume detail reflects the passion and commitment of our students, staff and helpers.

There are many people who have played an integral role in bringing this beloved story to life.

To our lead performers, ensemble cast, musicians, technical crew, backstage team, and student volunteers, thank you for the countless afterschool rehearsals, weekend commitments, and hours spent perfecting your role. Together, you have demonstrated creativity, courage, resilience, and a wonderful sense of community. You should all be incredibly proud of what you have achieved.

A very special thank you must be extended to our executive production team: Rhianna Cummings (Director), Amber Gedge (Musical Director), Peta May and Kirsten Fry (Production Managers), Gavin Andrew (Technical Director, Photographer), Jonathon White (Lighting Patch) Michael Curtis (Audio Engineer), our Art and Technology team Lisa White, Linga Naidoo, & Deborah Bradbury (Sets & Costumes), Claire Bloom (Front of House), and Amanda Minogue (Behind the scenes support). Your vision, expertise, patience, and unwavering commitment have transformed a much-loved fairy tale into a memorable theatrical experience for our community.

To our parent supporters and helpers, thank you. Whether you have assisted with costumes, transported students to rehearsals, helped with set construction, volunteered your time, or simply provided encouragement, your support has been invaluable.

The support and partnership of the WHS School Council and the Friends and Family of Warrandyte group is also deeply appreciated. Through your ongoing fundraising efforts and commitment to our students, you continue to make opportunities like this possible. To the wonderful staff of Warrandyte High School, thank you for the many hours of behind-the-scenes support that help turn ambitious ideas into reality.

I would also like to acknowledge and thank our major sponsors for their generous support of this year's production.

Finally, thank you to our school community for your ongoing support of the performing arts and the opportunities they provide for our young people to shine.

Now, take your seats, keep an eye out for enchanted household objects, and prepare to be swept away by a story of friendship, courage, acceptance, and love. After all, the greatest magic of all is discovering that beauty truly comes from within.
