Prayer
Lord Jesus, send us out as living “seeds of hope.” Teach us to notice need, to respond with mercy, and to keep growing in goodness, so that our winter acts of charity become steady fruit.
Lord, open our eyes that we may see the deepest needs of your people.
Move our hands so that we may feed the hungry.
Touch our hearts that they may bring warmth to those who are sad.
Let us share our time and possessions with those in need.
Give us the care that strengthens the sick.
May we all be a source of support and encouragement for each other as
we strive to build a more loving society.
Amen.
Amen.
St Vinnies Winter Appeal
The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (or St Vinnies) is a group of kind people who follow Jesus by helping those who are doing it tough. Instead of just sending things, they visit people directly to find out what they truly need.
They do things like feeding the hungry, visiting the sick, and helping families who are struggling. Every winter, St Vinnies holds a special appeal to make sure people who are cold or lonely get warm clothing, food, and the love they need to get through the winter months.
This winter we are going to be raising money for St Vinnies through gold coin donations on our special theme days:
- Team Colours Day – Wednesday 17th June
- Pyjama Day – Friday 3rd July
