Principal's Report

Supporting Another School Community

I would like to share with our community that from 1 June to 26 June, I will be supporting the community at Arthurs Creek Primary School as Acting Principal.

 At times, principals within the Department of Education are asked to provide leadership support to other schools during periods of need. As an experienced principal, and with the benefit of having a highly capable and experienced leadership team at Rosanna Golf Links Primary School, I have been asked to assist Arthurs Creek Primary School for a short period of four weeks.

While I will be spending time at Arthurs Creek during this period, I will remain connected to Golf Links and continue to work closely with our leadership team. This is a temporary arrangement only, and I will return to Rosanna Golf Links Primary School for the beginning of Term 3.

During my absence, Nicholas Burley will undertake the role of Acting Principal. Nick is an experienced and highly respected leader who knows our school community well and is exceptionally well placed to lead the school during this time. To further support the school, Cathie Sutton will also step into additional leadership responsibilities to ensure our ongoing work in student wellbeing, disability inclusion and school improvement continues seamlessly. Together, they will be supported by our outstanding leadership team, who will continue to ensure that the day-to-day operations, learning programs and support for students remain uninterrupted.

 I have every confidence that Rosanna Golf Links Primary School will continue to thrive over these four weeks. One of the strengths of our school is the depth of leadership and expertise that exists across our staff, and I know our students and community will be exceptionally well supported during this period.

Thank you for your ongoing support. I look forward to returning at the beginning of Term 3 and hearing about all of the wonderful learning, achievements and celebrations that have taken place while I have been away.

Celebrating 40 Years of Service

This week, we had the privilege of celebrating an incredible milestone, with Sharon Armstrong being recognised for 40 years of service to the Victorian Department of Education. For much of her career, Sharon has been a dedicated member of the Rosanna Golf Links Primary School community, working within our Deaf Education Hub as a Teacher of the Deaf. Throughout those years, she has positively impacted the lives of countless students and families through her expertise, advocacy and unwavering commitment to inclusive education. As an old-school special educator myself, I have had many conversations with Sharon about teaching, learning and the ever-evolving world of education. Those discussions have only reinforced the deep respect I have for her knowledge, professionalism and dedication to her students. Sharon's passion for ensuring every child can access and engage in learning is evident in everything she does. On behalf of our entire school community, congratulations Sharon on this remarkable achievement. We thank you for your outstanding contribution to public education and to the students of Rosanna Golf Links Primary School.

 Being Respectful in our Community

As always, we ask our community to be mindful and respectful of our neighbours during drop off and pick up times. Please ensure you are not parking across driveways or mounting curbs when parking around the school. We also kindly remind families walking dogs to pick up after their pets to help keep our school grounds and surrounding streets clean and welcoming for everyone. Thank you for your continued support in maintaining positive relationships with our local community.
