Year 4 Inquiry

This term in Inquiry, Year 4 students have been investigating the topic ‘I am a Tourist’, guided by our big question of ‘Why might people move around the world?’. Students have been developing their geographical knowledge and research skills through an exciting investigation of countries around the world.
As a whole class, students began by exploring key geographical concepts, including the continents, oceans, the Equator, hemispheres, the tropics and the poles. They investigated how these features help us understand the location of places around the world and how they influence climate and weather patterns.
To apply their learning, students worked collaboratively in small groups to research a randomly assigned country. They gathered information from a variety of sources and used digital tools to create engaging multimodal presentations. Students shared their findings with the class, combining visuals, maps, images and oral presentations to teach others about their chosen country.
