Principal's Report

Dear BEPS Community,
Foundation 2027 Enrolments
If your child is due to commence Foundation in 2027, we encourage families to submit their enrolment application as soon as possible.
While siblings of current students are guaranteed a place, early enrolment assists us greatly with planning for classes, staffing, and resources for the coming year.
If you have a child starting school in 2027, please complete the enrolment process at your earliest convenience. We look forward to welcoming the next group of Foundation students to our school community. Please contact Wendy or Jess at the office.
As we come to the end of another busy and productive fortnight, it is always valuable to reflect on our school values of Confidence, Respect, Resilience, Honesty, and Responsibility and the many ways our students demonstrate these values each day.
At last week's assembly, we were treated to a wonderful showcase of student learning and achievement. Our students displayed remarkable confidence as they took to the stage to share their learning with peers, staff, and families.
Year 3 students spoke about their recent incursion and shared their learning about the history and significance of the Aboriginal Flag. The Junior Choir delighted the audience with a wonderful performance of Fun Monday, while our Year 5 students reflected on their recent excursion and their learning about immigration. We also heard from students who participated in the John Monash Little Scientists Program, who spoke proudly about the opportunities and experiences they gained through their involvement.
The ability to stand in front of an audience and confidently share learning is a significant achievement. Opportunities such as these help students develop communication skills, self-belief, and leadership capabilities that will serve them well throughout their lives. It was wonderful to see students encouraging one another and celebrating each other's successes, demonstrating the strong sense of connection and support that exists within our school community.
School Improvement Projects
We are pleased to share several updates regarding ongoing improvements to our school facilities.
From Friday, 19th of June, Ducon will commence preparatory works with the installation of fencing at the back of the Year 2, Year 1 and Foundation classrooms to secure the area for the installation of our new pergolas. These structures will provide additional covered outdoor seating and learning spaces including the Performing Art and the Year 2 building entrance.
This project represents a significant investment in enhancing our school environment, with a total project value of $387,525.70. The new facilities will create more comfortable and functional outdoor spaces for students to learn, collaborate, and connect throughout the year.
As part of these works, access to student toilets during the final week of school will be via the COLA. Further construction details can be found in the attached scope of works documentation.
We have also recently removed the water tank from the gardening and chicken area and are currently planning a landscaped space that will include additional seating for students to enjoy. Across the school, new blinds have been installed in classrooms to improve learning environments, and rectification works have been completed in the Foundation playground.
In addition, work is underway on updated school signage, which will further enhance the presentation and visibility of our school.
These improvements reflect our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality facilities and learning spaces that support student wellbeing, engagement, and learning.
Thank you for your continued support of our school. We look forward to sharing more updates and celebrating further student successes in the weeks ahead.
Yours in Partnership,
Darren
