Principal's Report

Dear St A’s Community,

As we get closer to the end of the year there are many events that we hope you have in your diary. Please check the dates for the diary section.  We will be having a very special assembly for our Grade 6’s on Monday of Week 11 beginning at 2:30 sharp. At this assembly we will farewell our current Grade 6’s from our community as well as introducing our new school leaders for the 2024 year. We are looking forward to celebrating and sharing some special awards as well.

We look forward to presenting the 2023 Louisa Dunkley shield at this assembly also. The Louisa Dunkley Shield has been awarded annually to a student at every school in Dunkley electorate  for many years. It is presented to a student who displays a distinguished commitment to applying the attributes of Louisa Dunkley: “Fairness, Equality and Community”. Last year's recipient was Braxton Garner.

Transition - Our students have been transitioning into their new classes for 2024.  The groupings are still being finalised as we observe and see the mix of students coming together.  Unfortunately we can not accept any more parent requests.  Every child will be placed with a friend of their choice from their list.

Market for Missions - next Friday our amazing Grade ⅚ students will be holding the annual Market for Mission stalls.  This is an opportunity for our community to come together and help raise funds for CARITAS.  The students have been working hard advertising their stalls as well as creating and making all the items to be sold.  This event is a popular one for our students and we hope it will be as successful as the markets from the past.  If you are free come along and support the Grade 5/6 students!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending mass at St Patrick's cathedral, which was led by Archbishop Comensoli. It was a most reverent occasion and a celebration of Victorian Catholic principals.  As I reflect upon this mass, it made me think just how lucky I am to lead this amazing St A's community!  Truly blessed!

Have a good weekend!

Show Grace, Be the Joy for others, and God Bless.
