Proud Year 1 with their swimming ribbons -St Agnes' Swimming Carnival 2023

Hi Everyone,

On Tuesday 28th November, St Agnes' held its first ever swimming carnival at Sandringham Leisure Centre. All St Agnes' students competed in different swimming events including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and relays.  The junior students participated in freestyle, kick board races and noodle races.

The showcase event was the teacher versus school captains relay.  It was very close and this year's winner was the teachers thanks to Mr McMahon's strong first swim giving Mrs Murdoch,Mrs Baker and Ms DiPietro an uncatchable lead.  The Year 5 students said that they would definitely beat the teachers next year by a massive amount.

All house colours did really well and it was very close at the end.  This year the overall trophy went to Blue House and, if you listen very closely you can still hear Blue House cheering.

The carnival is a wonderful St Agnes' community event.  It was fantastic to see so many parents and grandparents present on the day.  I would like to say a big thank you to the teachers because without their efforts the day would not have been possible.  Most of all I would like to thank the Year 6 students for helping with the juniors in the pool, they did an amazing job.

Congratulations to all our competing St Agnes' students!  We are very proud of you.

Kind Regards,
