Environment Club News

Good news – our potatoes have begun sprouting in the veggie patch. In addition, Doncaster Bunnings has generously donated fruiting plants and supplies to our club to help increase our edible garden and help keep students engaged with the outdoors.

Specialist recycling facilities are available at EDSC

We set up recycling boxes for pens, empty whiteout containers and markers (in The JLC, 400 Open Area and Library), it would be appreciated if you drop them in those boxes when they are finished. The more kilos of pens we save from landfill, the more money we can win to improve our school environment.

In addition, please drop any batteries, bottlecaps, and bread tags you have used at school or at home, at the Library (instead of the general rubbish).

We also offer disposable

coffee cup recycling in the Main Admin Office Staffroom, The JLC and the 505-506 atrium. Please bring a reusable cup, but when you forget, make sure you recycle it and reduce waste to landfill.

Can you help the Environment Club?

We are excited to be expanding our Environment Club’s gardening program, creating a hands-on experience that fosters curiosity among our students. However, we need your help!

Do you have old gardening equipment lying around your garage or shed? Shovels, wheelbarrows, or any other tools that could be put to good use? We kindly request that you consider donating them to EDSC.

If you have something you would like to donate, please email Nicola Ritchie at Nicola.Ritchie@education.vic.gov.au

Thank you for your kindness and support. Please note we do not require pots, or plants of any variety at this this time.

Cancer Council Fundraiser

Thanks to the work of POSF49, Miss Ritchie’s Positive Futures Class, EDSC has raised  $180 for the Cancer Council. The  money will go to researching cures and better treatment for cancer, as well as help patients and their families. Well done to the Year 9s, who worked hard at recess and lunchtimes selling badges, pins and lollies.
