- Congratulations to all our 2023 Year 12 completers! Whether it be VCE or VCE VM we are super proud and grateful for all the MSCW staff who have supported you in this tremendous achievement. Well done!
- Further congratulations to all the recipients of awards at the recent Marist-Sion College Presentation Night. Well done! Make sure you keep a record of these achievements as they are fabulous inclusions in your resume and future applications.

- 2023 Year 12 Results and Change of Preference Appointments will be priority for Monday 11 – Wednesday 13 December.
- In terms of planning for 2024, please be aware of the following dates:
- Year 9 Morrisby sessions will occur 6 to 8 February
- Year 10 Work Placement is scheduled for 11 to 21 June, with intro and preparation sessions on 5 February and 16 May
- Year 8 to 11 students and their families/carers should note the 2025 Subject Selection Expo is scheduled for 21 May

- Engineering Ahead: A six-day year-long program, plus work experience component for Year 10 students interested in exploring careers in the incredibly broad field of engineering, including trade areas of fabrication and fitting, as well as professional areas of civil and electrical engineering.
- Trading Up: A year-long program for Year 10 female students interested in exploring trades via industry visits, expos, supported placement and TAFE sessions.
- New Energy Technology Program: A year-long program for Year 9 or 10 students interested in STEM Careers, especially in the new energy and technologies sectors, as well as connecting with industry organisations and real-world problem solving.

Careers and Pathways Roles at the College in 2024
Careers and Pathways Coordinator, Elly Martin
Key areas of responsibility include the provision of general career and course information and counselling for students, as well as communication of relevant careers information, opportunities and programs to the College community. This role is the first point of contact for careers enquiries including those from students, staff, parents and tertiary institutions. This role is also responsible for the management of the career resource area and career programs. Available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Vocational/Applied Learning Leader, Ben Gaze
Key areas of responsibility include the provision of support for students whom are part of a vocational learning program within the College as well as the primary contact for students undertaking Vocational Education and Training and/or Structured Workplace Learning as part of their learning program.
Careers Support Teachers, Lexie Fenton and Tammy Barnes
Key areas of responsibility are likely to include the Year 9 Morrisby Program and general support function of the Careers and Pathways program offerings.
Careers and Pathways Admin Support, Mark Paynter
Key areas of responsibility include administration support for careers, vocational and work placement programs. Mark’s extensive experience means he is also able to support students with careers and pathways enquiries on Fridays.
Careers and Pathways is seeking alumni input – can you or maybe your adult children/siblings help?
The Careers and Pathways team are seeking expressions of interest from any alumni with a willingness to participate in our careers program. This could be via:
- Newsletter article
- Zoom/MS Teams session at lunchtime or to a specific class (eg. VCE Chemistry)
- Willingness to share your contact info so that any interested students can contact you for a career conversation
- Short video/vimeo about your career journey which can be shown at College Assembly
