VTAC December Round Offers and Change of Preference ( CoP)

With the release of results that can provide excitement and clarity, some students will be left with questions about what they will study in 2024. The ATAR may be lower than expected and options may need to be re-evaluated. Our advice is to stay focused on your dream course and perhaps consider a diploma or other university pathway programs, or courses with lower ATAR pathways.

Students can add, remove or re-order course preferences through their VTAC account.

St Mary MacKillop College  Pathways staff will be available to discuss options during the first CoP period from Monday 11th to Wednesday 13th of December.

Year 10 Work Experience Program 2024

All Year 10 students will participate in the Work Experience Program in 2024 where they can complete a five-day placement in an industry of their choice. Work experience placements provide students a chance to explore possible career options and assist them in future course and career decision-making.

We hope parents and guardians will support and encourage their children to participate in this progam and maybe even start to discuss this now and consider possible workplaces.

Murray Mallee LLEN- VIC VICE Headsets

Murray Mallee LLEN's Executive Officer Deb and Projects Officer Mikayla recently visited our Year 9 Pathways Class to showcase our VIC VICE Virtual Reality industry careers experience!

The students had the opportunity to view the Agriculture, Community Services and Transport and Logistics Industry Experiences including;

  • Dairy Farming: Students engage with two teenage farm hands showing the difference between a traditional rotary dairy and a high-tech automated farm and dairy.
  • Early Childhood Education: Students have the opportunity to hear what excites the educators of our earliest learners, it’s where it all begins.
  • Diesel Mechanic: Students have the opportunity to hear from both female and male apprentices and what a typical day working on trucks looks like.

In addition, students checked out Goulburn Murray LLEN's GMVICE online digital platform to view the 360-degree virtual reality technology; this enabled students to “step inside” local Agriculture/Horticulture workplaces and hear from local professionals to further inspire them by creating real career conversations.

Overall, our classroom experiences with the Victorian LLENs VIC VICE technology have been super positive and we can't wait to introduce these workshops more in 2024!
