A note from Mr Jackson

FORPS Picnic Invitation

Don’t miss out on the picnic scheduled for next Friday evening, 8th December. It’s a chance to relax together to celebrate the end of another year. This year, a special deal has been struck with a Food Van offering our families a unique deal. A reminder that if you wish to purchase Paella for the evening, you must pre order on Qkr! by this Sunday. This is required so the catering group can prepare the meals. More information is available on QKR! and Compass. Of course, feel free also to bring along your own family dinner and enjoy the night.

Big Day In

Monday 18th December will see a range of activities for classes to celebrate the end of the year.

Students will start the day participating in a range of tabloid activities on the oval, provided by Kaboom Sports. It will be a good chance to be active while enjoying the friendships established over the year. This will be a wonderful experience and I encourage all to complete the payment on Qkr!

At 11:30am students will gather in their 2024 classes for an hour. A range of activities are planned to get to know other students and their teacher/s for 2024.

A special sushi lunch has already been offered to students separately.

2024 Yearbook On The Way

We’re excited that a Yearbook for 2023 has been prepared by students and teachers. It aims to celebrate a great year and is full of photos and experiences of the past 12 months. Prior to publishing, we are required to gain consent from parents/guardians/careers for the image and first name of students to be published. This is required by next Friday 8 December and can be completed on Qkr! If this consent is not provided we will not be able to include images or the name of the student concerned.

Parents and carers are welcome to purchase copies. Payments will be accepted shortly. Keep an eye on Compass for further information.

2024 Preps Meet the Buddies

Today our 2024 Preps were onsite and had an opportunity to meet up with their 2024 Buddies. It was a great chance to build the relationships that will support our new students in the coming year. It also is an invitation to students in the senior school to step up and actively care for the youngest students in the school.

School Council Reflections

The School Council met on Monday night.

  • The School Council expressed their gratitude to all who contributed their time and energy into supporting the school fair. All agreed it was a wonderful experience.
  • The new strategic plan and evaluation of 2024 Annual Implementation Plan were discussed and received
  • The difficulties experienced in the re-stumping of the northern end of the admin block were discussed, as well as the leak in the same area that has occurred just recently. Structural engineers were onsite on Wednesday to look at the unstable flooring in the art room.
  • The 2024 Indicative Budget was received as was the Parent Payment Policy
  • A great deal of discussion occurred around the small number of family payments received from parents. Members expressed their concern that only 25% of families completed the parent payments. It was noted that the payments support the purchase of materials and equipment crucial to the learning experiences. It was also noted the 2024 indicative budget will run at a deficit.
