Mentoring Peer Support

At our end of Year celebration

Throughout the academic terms spanning from Term 1 to 4 this year, the dynamic and impactful 'Mentoring Peer Support Program' brought together the enthusiastic participation of both Year 7 and Year 10 students. Spearheaded by the guidance of Alycia Benincasa, Director of Engagement (Junior School)  & Transition coordinator, other staff and leadership of Year 10 mentors, the program was purposefully designed to provide invaluable support and guidance to the incoming Year 7 cohort as they navigated their initial steps into the realm of secondary schooling.

A range of engaging activities and sessions were meticulously organized and led by the Year 10 students, aimed at fostering a supportive and inclusive environment while helping Year 7 students acclimate to the various challenges and opportunities that secondary school presents.

The collaborative efforts and dedication of the Year 10 mentors not only facilitated a seamless transition for the Year 7 students but also cultivated a sense of camaraderie and mutual respect among the participants. Throughout the year, the activities orchestrated by the students were met with enthusiasm and eagerness, evident from the palpable excitement and positive feedback expressed by both Year 7 and Year 10 students. The program not only served as a platform for mentorship but also evolved into a vibrant community where students found comfort, guidance, and joy, underscoring its resounding success and the palpable impact it had on the school's culture and student experience.
