Art

The Art Technology Domain have had a busy and exciting term following the success of the 2023 Art Show. It was such an amazing experience being able to share the incredible work of the students with the community.

The Art Show was catered by our talented food students. A big thank you Mrs Morley, Ms Bailey, Mrs Shelley and Mrs Godfrey for organising this. The cookies and sausage rolls were a big hit!

Many staff and students helped in setting up the Art Show and volunteered many hours during lunch times and after school. The show was on Friday the 13th October which inspired some students to work with a spooky theme. Chelsea Baxter, Kaitlyn Harrison, Tom McHaffie, Lily Hills, Laura Henderson and Rina Tanaka created a Haunted House filled with UV spiders, bats and hidden candy.

A special thank you to all the classroom teachers who collected and displayed work from their classes including Mr Cross, Mrs Hoogenraad, Mrs Godfrey and Mr Darlison. The work was of a very high standard and there was a huge variety of mediums from paintings to furniture, it was very impressive.

Thank you to everyone that came down on the night and those that voted for their favourite works. Mr Rennick and Mr Donald announced the winners of the people’s choice award by holding a special morning tea for all the award winners:

The Year 8s have been printmaking in class and Mrs Hoogenraad has been holding a lunch time print making program with local artist and father of Jasmin Macmillan: Andrew Macmillan.

The Art Technology team are feeling inspired and excited for the future. We are already planning for more programs, excursions and art shows for 2024 and we can’t wait to see what our students are going to create.
