Celebrating Students  

Recognising Contribution

A feature of 2023 has been the acknowledging of student effort and achievement. 

At the end of Term 3, the English department took the time to recognise the contributions of Scarlet Gales- Smith, Celeste Duthie (Year 11) and Indigo Montgomery (Year 7) towards promoting engagement in good literature. 

Mr Karl Fritzlaff, head of the English Domain, acknowledged this contribution by presenting the girls with a great read.   

A Happy Exchange

One of the highlights of 2023 has been welcoming our exchange student Joonas Salonen to Healesville High School.   It has been a busy year for Joonas and at times a cultural whirlwind.  The sharing of Australian and Finnish stories and traditions has certainly added colour to conversations and class discussions. 

Being 15000 km from home, his English class decided to help celebrate his 18th birthday in a traditional Australian manner.  

 We are sure he will have many interesting and entertaining stories to share on his return home.
