Market Stall Update

Our budding entrepreneurs in grades 5 & 6 are busy preparing their product or service to be sold to the school community on December 8th.

Students have used the advertising and marketing knowledge that they have gained during literacy lessons this term to determine the best strategy to firstly advertise and then sell their product.

Students have been producing marketing posters to drum up interest around the school:

Students have also been getting their heads around concepts relating to supply and demand, budgeting and the cost of raw materials in relation to a finished product. This has enabled them to create simple financial plans outlining costs and potential product:

Those students who have chosen to buy materials for their product have been planning to shop before production ramps up next week; they have to keep all receipts to show their spending.

Whilst this is an engaging, authentic learning experience students have not lost sight of the fact that the profits generated will be donated to charity; students will be selecting from a range of charities that support children's health, security and rights.

We welcome you all to attend our market day on December 8th, barter with our young traders and help support both our learning and some very worthy causes.

Best wishes,
