Performing Arts

Hi all,

Performing Arts has been a highly kinetic environment for the previous fortnight, with students from all year levels diligently learning and memorizing the lyrics to their Christmas Carols. Further to this, students from all year levels have been learning and practicing the skill of matching dance/choreography to the words of their Christmas carols. The Foundation students continue to surprise, with their ability to learn and remember lyrics only being outdone by their enthusiasm! In Years 1 and 2, students have been prancing and dancing here, there and everywhere with what is the most up-beat of carols! The Years 3 and 4 students have been working really hard at incorporating matching expressions to their lyrics and dance moves and have been keeping each other and me thoroughly entertained. In Years 5 and 6, students have finished their soundscapes, have admirably performed a rendition of London’s Burning, singing in a Round and have begun to practice matching choreography for their Christmas carol.

Year 2's playing warm up games and rehearsing their dance!

We are all excited to showcase the students’ hard work at the Christmas Carols on Wednesday December 6, starting at 6:30pm. If you haven’t already done so, be sure to mark this date in your diary/calendar. The students are all looking forward to putting on a show and entertaining you all!

Until next time.
