Latest news | Art & Design Exhibition
A big thank you to everyone who attended the official opening of the St Mary's College Art and Design Exhibition on Friday 10 November.
Hosted by the Art department and attracting a large crowd of families, friends and staff, the exhibition was a rewarding culmination for students who have worked hard over 12 months to complete beautiful, inspiring works for public display.
Spanning three levels of the Mary Morgan Wing, the exhibition presented a wide array of artistic mediums, forms and styles, from traditional painting and drawing to photography, digital art, sculpture and woodwork, giving guests an insight into the students' imagination and creative processes.
In an event-first, VET textiles students had the chance to work the runway as they modelled their own sustainable designs. The audience marvelled at the intricate and eye-catching pieces on show, which were created by the students as part of The Certificate II in Visual Arts - Introduction to Creative and Sustainable Design Industries course.
We are incredibly proud of everyone who was involved in coordinating the exhibition, from students to staff, and are already looking forward to our next showcase in 2024.
