Prize Giving | Monday 4 December

We are looking forward to welcoming you and your family to the Senior School Prize Giving evening on Monday 4 December in the Tasman Room, Wrest Point. This is a very special evening for St Mary’s College where we honour our prize winners, student achievements and celebrate the school year. 

 

If, due to unforeseen circumstances—such as illness, your daughter is unable to attend, please notify the College Principal, Damian Messer via email to the Administrator Officer (Principal), Megan Hunniford: mhunniford@smc.tas.edu.au 

 

All Senior School students are required to arrive by 6.30pm and sit in designated areas with their Homeroom teachers. The formal uniform (no jumpers) is to be worn in line with the College's Uniform Guidelines. Students who are involved in the Liturgy are to arrive by 6.00pm, and those involved in the Music groups by 6.15pm. 

 

Arrangements for rehearsal day, Monday 4 December

 

All Years 7 to 9 students are expected to attend school and are to wear their PE uniform. Students will be dismissed from school at 12.50pm so that they may go home in preparation for the evening. Supervision will be provided for those students catching buses after school. If this option is required for your daughter, please contact Administration Officer (Deputy Principal), Ryan Flack: rflack@smc.tas.edu.au 

8.45am Year 7 and 8 students and any Year 9 student involved in Music items (Choir / Band) will travel to Wrest Point by bus.
9.00amYear 10, 11 and 12 students involved in Music items are to arrive at Wrest Point.
11.00amYear 7 and 8 students not involved in the Choir and Concert Band will return to the College by bus.
12.30pmYear 7 to 9 students involved in the Choir and Concert Band will return to the College by bus.
1.30pmYear 12 students and the 2024 Prefects to arrive at Wrest Point for rehearsal.

Please note that there will be no opportunity to purchase food or drink at Wrest Point. NO VALUABLES ARE TO BE TAKEN AS BAGS MAY BE LEFT UNATTENDED IN THE AUDITORIUM FOR PART OF THE DAY.

 

The Year 9 students will complete the Soldier’s Memorial Walk at the Queen’s Domain.  Further details will be communicated via the Consent2Go correspondence. 

 

Arrangements from Tuesday 5 December to Monday 11 December

Tuesday 5 - Wednesday 6 DecemberRegular timetabled lessons for Year 7 to 9 students.
Thursday 7 December

Year 7 students will participate in an Activity Day. 

Year 8 students will participate in the Mud Run.

Year 9 students will have regular timetabled classes. 

Details for each of these events will be provided via Consent2Go correspondence.

Friday 8 December

Year 7 students to participate in a rotation of Pillars activities at the College. 

Year 8 and 9 students will participate in Elective Step-Up Day. This will be an opportunity for teachers to provide an overview of topics and outline course expectations for the following year ahead.

Monday 11 December

Final day for Kinder to Year 9 students

All students will celebrate Thanksgiving Mass in St Mary’s Cathedral followed by the Presentation Picnic at Soldier’s Memorial Ground.
