As we reflect and finalise experiences for 2023 and strategically plan for next year and beyond, it is important we each take the time to appreciate moments of joy. Sharing in the lives of your precious children truly brings me moments of joy daily. Obviously the school concert was a highlight and indeed a moment of joy for all the students, the staff and hopefully you as proud parents. The atmosphere was fabulous and we thank you for helping us to create this safe, supportive and inclusive space where everyone feels like they belong.
Speaking of moments of joy, the teachers are currently savouring these last few weeks with your children and as they finalise assessments and complete semester reports which gives us all an opportunity to reflect on how much each student has achieved and grown in this last year.
We have had a few students absent and have had to send some students home with the following:
If you student has any symptoms of these, and of course please stay vigilant for COVID symptoms, please keep them home and inform the office. We want everyone to feel safe and healthy for the last few weeks of term. If your child has gastro the recommended exclusion period is 24 hours since their last vomited.
Please obey all signposts. There are many people still dropping off at no stopping zone and this is a danger to our children and staff.
The school zone is 25 mph please adhere to this again for the safety of our children and staff.
Neighbours - we have had several neighbour complaints recently particularly around our school families using driveways as drop off and pick up points, and as a place to complete u-turns. This week we also had a neighbour telephone as her bin had not been emptied as there was a school family’s car parked right in front of the bin.
We thank you for parking responsibly and consideration for our neighbours.
After nearly 20 years at St Brigid’s and the same at Loreto College and with other amazing educational experiences in between, our amazing librarian Meredith Petit will be leaving us at the end of the year. Meredith is an incredible librarian who has a huge font of knowledge, and also a genuine love of books and learning, which she has passed on to so many of our students and staff both past and present. I would also l to acknowledge Meredith’s late husband Tim, who supported Meredith and thereby our school library throughout her time at St Brigid’s.
We sincerely thank you Meredith for everything you contributed throughout your years at St Brigid’s but also for the wonderful person you are. We will miss you. God bless
Yours in Peace, Love and Learning,
