Term 4 Sports Report

We had a jampacked Term 4 competing in a number if events across State, NRM and Division championships.  The events that the College was represented in were, NMR Hurdles and High jump, State Athletics, NMR basketball and volleyball, Division cricket, volleyball, tennis, softball and baseball and State Tennis.

All students represented the College extremely well, always demonstrating the College values of Aspiration and Respect.

Josh Fitzgerald and Deena Gerges competed for Greensborough College at the SSV State Track and Field championships. The conditions weren’t favourable, but neither Deena or Josh let that affect them in any way.

Both Deena and Josh tried their hardest and came away with some amazing results. Josh finished 6th in the 1500m, and Deena won three of her events making her the current School Sports Victoria State Champion in Girls 13 Years high jump, long jump and shot put; setting a meet record in high jump. In addition to her three championship titles, she also made it on the podium in the 100m winning the bronze medal.

This term four teams competed at NMR finals. Year 7 Girls Volleyball and Basketball, and Year 8 Mixed Basketball and Boys Volleyball.  All teams were very competitive winning a number of games and displaying great skills and sportsmanship.
