During the 2023 school year, Flynn has represented St Mary of the Angels, Guyra at a wide range of sports and sporting events across all levels, including school, Diocesan, Polding and State level.

Flynn’s achievements this year commenced with being awarded the Junior Boy Champion at the school Swimming Carnival. This then saw him represent our school at the Diocesan Carnival in Gunnedah.

Here, Flynn competed in the Ten-Year-Old's Freestyle and Backstroke events, where he received 2nd overall for both.

This achievement saw Flynn qualify and able to attend the Polding event at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre where he placed 4th in his heats for both Freestyle and Backstroke and 12th overall for his age group.

On the running track, Flynn shines as an incredible athlete. He was the Ten-Year-Old Boys Champion at the School Cross Country Carnival, earning him his rightful place at the Diocesan Carnival in Barraba.

Flynn was 4th in his age division which again saw him represent our school and the Armidale Diocese at Polding at the Sydney Equestrian Centre. Not only did Flynn receive a fantastic result of 6th overall in his age division but he was also a part of the Ten-Year-Old Boys Best Regional team. Flynn again returned to Sydney to compete in the NSW PSSA State Carnival where he earned a very respectable 56th in the state of New South Wales.

Following Flynn’s success in Cross Country, he became the Junior Boys Runner Up Age Champion at St Mary of the Angels for Athletics. He competed in the Diocesan Carnival in Tamworth, walking away with 1st place in the 800 meters, 3rd in the 200 meters and 1st place in the 1500 meters for which he set the Diocesan record.

In addition to Flynn’s incredible achievements on the day, he was awarded the overall Junior Boy Champion Runner-up.  After this significant achievement, Flynn again returned to Sydney to compete in the Athletics Polding events, where he placed 5th overall in the 800 meters, 6th overall in the 1500 meters, and 8th overall in the 200 meters.

Flynn has also represented our school in a wide range of Diocesan Gala and Trail Days.  Flynn has been an excellent representative of our school and Dioceses and has demonstrated that he is a dedicated and hard working individual.

With Flynn already having a long list of accolades at such a young age it is no doubt that he will continue to compete at such levels with the immense support of his family and school community. Congratulations on all your achievements this year Flynn.
