Principal's Message

Welcome back

It has been great to welcome back all staff and students after the holiday break.  Term 3 is a fantastic time in schools; relationships and routines are established, teachers know their students and are able to drive learning forward.  It has been brilliant to see students engaged in their learning from the very first morning.

You will have noticed a number of improvements to our school grounds over the term break.  We are proud of the efforts we make to not only maintain but upgrade our beautiful and historic building and grounds, ensuring we are providing students with the best possible facilities to learn within.  These works will continue, with the structural repairs to the newer building upcoming, along with the upgrade to the yellow park playground.  I'd like to thank all community members who have supported us in these efforts.

Quadrangle opening

The biggest and most exciting upgrade has undoubtedly been our new quadrangle.  The quadrangle has been open to students since the beginning of term, with many choosing to access the space and engage in calm and regulation based play.

Teachers have been leading their classes in explicitly teaching the kinds of play expected in the space - reading, drawing, chatting with a friend and meditating are all examples of the kinds of activities that help promote self-regulation.

We are excited to officially open the quadrangle next week, with the Deputy Premier and Minister for Education, Hon. Ben Carroll MP, and the Member for Northern Metropolitan, Sheena Watt MP visiting our school to take part in the ceremony.  Please note - there has been a second change of date - due to a change in the Minister's schedule, we will now be opening the quadrangle at 10:30am on Thursday August 7. We invite all members of our community to come along and help us celebrate.

Foundation 100 days

Congratulations to all our Foundation students who have made it to 100 days of primary school! Our celebration this morning was delightful, with the entire Foundation cohort dressing up and performing for their families. We are so proud of their efforts, the growth they have made in their learning is remarkable and we cannot wait to see what they achieve for the remainder of the year.

Colour Run - September 5

We are excited to announce BNPS will be holding a colour run on Friday September 5. There will be more information provided in the coming days, but keep the afternoon free, we'd love to have the community come celebrate with us.
