STEM

Hello everyone. On Tuesday the 22 of July, we participated in the GALS in STEM program at the Ballarat Tech School. A group of ten girls worked in three groups to complete three different challenges. One group is focusing on how to make everyday items more sustainable; another is working on flooding and food production.
This week we focused on entrepreneurship, design and ideating. Entrepreneurship activities saw us promoting an everyday project to make it better. For example, making a drink bottle new and improved by including a cooling section or making it personalised. In the design task we made a laser cut Christmas tree. We learnt how to use design software and a laser cutter. The ideate activity got us thinking about our problem and our design.
We will have lots more time to work on our project. Next week Skye from the Tech school will come out to teach us more about Design technology and in Week 6 we will return to the Tech School to create a prototype.
We are looking forward to sharing more with you very soon.
