Naidoc Week
NAIDOC Week 2025 at BPS – Celebrating Culture and Country Last week, BPS proudly celebrated NAIDOC Week 2025—a time for our school community to honour and reflect on the rich histories, cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Throughout the week, students were involved in a variety of meaningful and engaging activities, including:
• Daily Morning Announcements that shared important stories and cultural insights
• School Story Time on Wednesday, where all classes read the text Walk with Us by Adam Goodes, Ellie Laing & David Hardy

• Lunchtime Indigenous Games with Mr Rodgers & Mr Georgiou, held every day from Monday to Friday
• Lunchtime Club Activities with a focus on cultural learning and expression
• A Whole School Colouring Competition, with winners announced during assembly (P–2 and 3– 6). Congratulations to our winners- Lila from 1RM and Evelyn from 4MM
• Specialist Team Contributions, with cultural perspectives woven into lessons across the school.
The theme this year - The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy - was embraced throughout the week, reminding us all of the strength, resilience, and pride of First Nations people.
