KITCHEN AND GARDEN PROGRAM FOR 2025!
Welcome Year 3 & Year 5
We are so excited to welcome the year 3 students into the kitchen and garden program for the first time. The enthusiasm in both the kitchen and garden was electric and they worked so well together in their teams.
We welcome back to the year 5 team and its safe to say they have not lost their skills and knowledge from last year. They cooked up a storm and got stuck into gardening tasks like true legends.
In the garden, our year 3s were introduced to all the smalls and tastes on offer. They are herbs, flowers and their favourite, the mustard green :)
Year 5s got messy composting, caring for the chickens, weeding, raking, watering and general tidying up. The Patch is looking fantastic thanks to their hard work.
Sustainability Update
Sustainability leaders have been working hard to install a keep cup swap station for our teachers to use when they forget their own keep cup. Their dream is for all of our teachers to stop using throw away cups and make the healthy habit of either sitting down to enjoy their cafe latte or use a re-usable cup to take away. They have also installed a recycle tower, thanks to 7 Eleven and their cup recycling program. Teachers are encouraged to put their cup in teh tower for recycling. Well done team!
