Writing ~ Recounts
Continuing on from last term, the students have been talking about (and writing about) what they did on the holidays (which seem a while ago, now!). Here are just some of the things that were done during our well earned break....
On the holidays...
I went to the park and I played on the slide. Guanhuai
I had a sleepover at my uncle's house. Henry
I went to Northlands and I played some games at Time Zone. Tehiva
I went to Time Zone and played the fishing game. Jayden
I was lucky enough to go and see Disney on Ice. Valentina
I went to my brother's footy training. Michael
I went to Auskick and I had fun. Levi
I stayed in bed and read a book. Then I had some more sleep and kept on reading. Marty
Sport
The kids last term loved coming out into the yard and getting to know how to play and work with round balls; they may seem easy but it takes quite a lot of practice to become good at controlling the spherical piece!
Year 1
WOW!! What a start to term 3!
The students were so excited when they saw our Discovery space! This term we will be learning about the weather and space!
The students had lots of great wonderings! Let see where the unit takes us!
Year 2/3 & Year 3/4
This week the students in Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 participated in Lego Masters in Space. Students worked in small mixed year level groups to plan and build their Space object, some chose a planet, others chose a variety of space craft. It was an exciting afternoon, with animated students working respectfully with their partners. Great Job everyone!
On the 21st of July, Marianna, Audrey and I were planning to create a space object out of lego, to develop our imagination about space for our inquiry topic. We worked well as a team to make a spaceship that looked like an aeroplane.
On the 21st of July, Luke, Lance and I (Jazlyn) were imagining what our lego space object would look like so I was planning (drawing), Luke was getting Lego blocks and Lance was looking and talking. We were in the Art Room and we were doing it about space because for Inquiry that is our new topic. It was so fun!!!!
On Monday the 21st of July, in the Art Room Lawrence, Abigail and I (Tazlyn) were c a spaceship by planning and building, using lego. Our group was working together and agreeing while building our Lego project.
On Monday 21st of July, Ezra, Madelyn and I (Suzie) created a Lego spaceship jail in the Art Room with Lego bricks.
On Monday 21st of July, Alena, Arvin and I (Vlami) were making a Lego planet in the Art Room. It helped us think about our new inquiry topic and it was fun.
The Senior Students
Welcome back to term 3!
It has been a fantastic and productive start to the term, with students settling in really well.
At the start of this week, students from Foundation-6 began their Earth and Space unit for Inquiry. Students in 5/6 started by sharing what they already knew about this topic, which was super impressive!
There has been a great amount of engagement and interest around this topic, and I am looking forward to sharing with you all the learning that occurs over the term!
