Mr. Carlyle's Message

Hello, Families, and welcome to this week's newsletter.
Parent Teacher Interviews - Friday, August 1
As we look ahead to Term 3, parent-teacher interviews will be held on Friday August 1st. Parent-teacher interviews are an opportunity for students to showcase their learning from Terms 1 and 2 with the support of their teacher. On this day attendance is only required for your child’s interview.
Booking times for the parent-teacher interviews will be available early next term. We are looking forward to seeing our parent community on the day.
A good point of reflection at this time of year, after conferences for families, is how they frame conversations about learning and school at home. Do you talk to students about their content knowledge topic at the dinner table, and ask them how their day was? Do you chat to them about challenges they may be facing and provide some positive strategies to manage these?
The following raising children article has some advice on how to best approach this;

French Day
I would just like to take a moment to congratulate Ms. Spencer for all the behind-the-scenes work that went into our very successful French celebration last week. A shout out as well to our PFG/Canteen volunteers who did an enormous job facilitating and delivering our French-themed lunch.
Is Your Child Enrolled for 2026?
If you have a child starting school next year, now is the perfect time to check that their enrolment is complete! We’re excited to launch our new Prep transition program, ‘Ballan Little Learners’, designed to help children feel confident, connected, and ready for school. This program will commence shortly and is available to all enrolled 2026 Foundation students. To ensure your child doesn't miss out on this valuable experience, please contact the school office to confirm their enrolment or to collect an enrolment pack. Alternatively, enrolment forms can be found on our website here.
