100 Days of School
What a fun day we had celebrating our 100th Day of School! Thank you to everyone for making the costumes so wonderful.
Responsible Pet Program
We had Tracey and Beebe from the Responsible Pet Program come to visit us last week. They taught us how to pat a dog correctly and what we need to do if we see an angry dog. You can find follow up activites on the Pet Town website here.
Science Week
We have been doing experiments this week to celebrate Science Week. We have experimented with making raisins dance in soda water, spinkles move to music and predicting what will happens when ice melts in the sun and shade.
Maths
We have been working on learning the numbers facts for the numbers up to 20. We are learning to say these number facts quickly (5 and 5 makes 10).
Week 5- Book Week Celebrations
Monday 18th August: Family reading time from 8.45-9am
Friday 22nd August: Book Week Dress Up Day and Parade
Friday 29th August: Wear it Purple Day
Friday 5th September:Ballarat Wildlife Park Excursion; please see event on Compass to provide payment and consent.
It’s that time of year again when we dust off the hot glue gun and put together a costume to celebrate Book Week. This year, Book Week will be celebrated from Monday 18th to Friday 22nd August, and the 2025 theme is Book an Adventure! 2025 is a milestone year, celebrating 80 years of the Australian Children’s Book Week!
We have organised 2 family events for the week:
Literacy
In week 5, we will be learning about the sound that 'sh' makes and reading the book Pete the Sheep. In week 6, we will be reviewing /ck/ and /sh/ and reading No Way Yirrikipayi!
Our heart words will be 'so' and 'all'.
Mathematics
In week 5, we will continue learning about at teen numbers and how these numbers are made. We will also be learning about sharing and odd and even numbers.
Topic
In week 5 and 6, we will be learning all about mammals and reptiles.
In Respectful Relationships we will look at Stress Management by doing activities about recognising stress and learning about strategies for self cheering.
