Introducing the Act Kindly Wellbeing Program

We’re excited to let you know that this term, our school will be taking part in the Act Kindly Wellbeing Program, developed by the Pat Cronin Foundation. This engaging program will support our students in developing important social and emotional learning (SEL) skills in a fun, age appropriate way.

The Pat Cronin Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation focused on educating young people about kindness, empathy, and making wise choices. Their programs are designed to help students build strong friendships, manage emotions, and learn strategies for resolving conflict peacefully, all very important skills for both the classroom and the playground.

Each year level will explore different real life scenarios through picture books, classroom discussions, and practical activities. The focus is on building emotional intelligence, respectful relationships, and a safe and supportive school environment.

We’re very grateful to Daniel Joyce from Jellis Craig, who generously sponsored the opportunity to purchase this program for our school. Their support means that every student from Prep to Year 6 will have access to this valuable resource.

We look forward to seeing the positive impact this program will have on our students and school community.

PBL Lunch with the Principal

It was a great way to begin the term on Wednesday in Week 1 celebrating our Term 2 Roch Stars!  Our Term 2 PBL Roch stars enjoyed hot chips and potato cakes with Mrs Mastoras. It is always fun to spend time building relationships with each of these students in a very relaxed social setting. Angie and I look forward to acknowledging how much they contribute to our school by following our school expectations of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience. Thank you to these outstanding PBL ambassadors.

Semester 2 SRC Representatives

Last Monday at Morning Greeting we congratulated the Semester 2 SRC leaders. These students were voted by their classmates to take on this role after careful consideration.  We know that they will take on this role with pride and represent their classes at our SRC meetings to help make St Roch’s an even better place to be for all students.

We would like to congratulate the Semester 2 SRC leaders.

Each week our school follows a PBL Weekly Focus. This week, the focus of our PBL lessons will be teaching students to develop a 'Growth Mindset' and next week the focus of our PBL lessons will be 'Active Listening.'

The weekly PBL focus aims to keep our PBL framework on the agenda across the school and keep up the excitement of Gotcha Tickets, Class Rewards and Whole School Rewards!

We encourage discussions with our students around the expected behaviour for the week and ensure that we are 'catching' the children when following the expected behaviours by giving out the Gotcha Tickets.
