Italian

The Preps have loved reading the Pinocchio story, singing “Head and Shoulders” in Italian and can name the parts of their body. Easter “Pasqua” is a special time in Italy.                 Here are some Easter Photos. The Preps had lots of fun reading and acting out the “La Sorpressa” Easter poem and story.

Reading Easter stories, helped all Year Levels to understand Italian Easter Customs.

Year 1 & 2 loved making an Italian Easter wreath and

They discovered Easter customs and made extra special Easter crafts; these are some photos of Easter activities.

During Term 2 the Preps loved reading out loud and acting out the story of La Farfalla Bianca.

They have learnt the colours in Italian and like singing the colour song. Here are pictures of the Preps acting out the story and singing the colour song in Italian.

The Year 1 and 2 students read Mrs. Sorbello’s Google Slide stories about “Animali a Casa” Pets and Farm Animals.

They learnt to name farm animals and pets.  They played charades and loved singing and acting out the “La Bamba” song and Old Macdonald in Italian.

These are pictures of the stories that they wrote which described their favourite pets.

Year 3 and 4 students wrote sentences to introduce themselves, explain their family members, and their favourite pastime.

They did lots of listening, writing tasks and games to help us learn to name classroom objects and things in our pencil case.

They asked each other questions in Italian and ask to borrow a forbici [scissors] or matitia [pencil]

They read and watched lots of videos to discover interesting information about Venezia.

These are some posters that we made with lots of facts about Venezia.

Years 5 and 6 have learnt to describe our own and friends’ size, hair, eyes and even words to describe people’s personalities.  They enjoyed playing a Guess who game. They also wrote and listened to sentences describing our friends and had fun guessing who it was.

Year 6 interviewed their buddies, listed what they looked like, asked about their favourite things and described their personalities. They wrote their descriptions and have created google slides about them. This is a sample of the Prep book.

Year 5 also read and watched lots of videos to discover interesting information about Venezia.

Over 2 weeks they made a detailed pamphlet about visiting Venezia. Here are some of the Year 5 Venezia Pamphlets and Harper was especially congratulated for making an amazing pamphlet.

The most exciting thing that we are doing is making an Italian poster about our visit to Canberra. We have written some sentences in Italian listing places we loved visiting. These are Kora and Evie stories.
