Principal's Report

We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.

We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people.

May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.

A visit from Catherine King

Our School Captain and Vice Captains had the privilege and pleasure of welcoming Catherine King to our school for a brief visit yesterday. She brought with her a beautiful, brand new Austrailian flag for our school, which we will use on special occasions. As always, our School Captains did a great job at representing our school.

Engagement in Learning across the School

There is a real buzz across the school throughout learning time. As a school, we have worked tirelessly, and have been led capably, by our Learning Specialists to adopt 2.0 Curriculum in both English and Maths. We are also incorporating the Victorian Teaching & Learning Model 2.0 across the school to ensure that best practice in both teaching and learning is being applied in all key learning areas. This work is part of our 2025 Annual Implementation Plan and is building confidence, consistency and quality with both staff and students.

2026 School Enrolments

Do you have a child ready to commence school in 2026? Do you know of a family that has a child ready to start school next year? Miners Rest Primary School is now taking enrolments for the 2026 school year. If you would like to enrol a child for school next year - pop in and see our friendly and supportive administration team, and they will provide you with the correct documentation to enrol. Once enrolled, you will receive important information regarding transition sessions, parent information sessions and more!

End of Semester Reports

As we near the end of a very long and productive term, teachers are very busy creating a snapshot of each and every child's learning that they have had the privilege of contributing to. Classroom teachers, and specialist teachers, will report on what they have covered within their key learning areas and also specifically comment on each child's learning and achievement. Reports will be provided to families on July 3.

Assembly

We have an assembly this week at 2:30 pm and our school community are warmly invited to join us.

Our final assembly will be at 9:00 am on Friday July 4 - last day of term.

Enjoy the rest of the week,

Kylie Nissen.
