Term 2 Discovery Open Afternoon

In the final week of Term 2, we opened our classrooms and welcomed families in to celebrate the fantastic learning completed in Discovery. This term, our focus was on the environment and the many ways we can reduce our impact on the planet.

Throughout the term, students explored important topics such as the 5 Rs of sustainability (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, and Recycle), the significance of picking up litter, composting food scraps, and using water wisely. The students were deeply engaged in their learning and were eager to share their knowledge and proudly present the posters and projects they had created.

A big thank you to all the parents and carers who took the time to visit. Your interest, questions, and conversations with the students helped make the afternoon even more meaningful. We truly appreciate your ongoing support in your child’s learning journey.

Reminders

• Homework books are due every Friday.
• Home Readers should be changed every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with the Home Reading Journal for the teacher to check. 
• Every student should bring a drink bottle to school to have in the class.
• Please label all student items as there are a lot of unnamed jumpers floating around that we cannot return to the owner.
