Discovery Open Afternoon– Natural Disasters 🌪️

A big thank you to all the parents, carers, and family members who joined us for our Discovery Open Afternoon last term. It was wonderful to see so many of you take the time to celebrate the incredible work our students had been doing as part of their natural disaster research projects.

Students were so proud to share their learning, confidently explaining the natural disaster they had researched and how they answered key inquiry questions such as:

- Why does this natural disaster occur?

- How does it happen?

- What impact does it have on humans?

-  When has it happened before?

Their projects showcased a wide range of skills — from researching and summarising information, to designing clear and creative presentations that included diagrams, images, and labelled captions. It was clear just how much thought, effort, and learning had gone into each and every project.

Having such a supportive audience made the afternoon even more special. Thank you for your encouragement, your thoughtful questions, and for taking an active interest in the students learning. It meant so much to the students, and to us, to be able to share and celebrate this moment with you.

We are incredibly proud of what the students achieved and grateful for the continued support of our school community.
