Another Big Term Ahead!

Welcome back to Term 3. I hope you hold on as this term is short but very busy. Make sure you have a look at our Term calendar and also your team's specific news that the Team leaders send out so you don’t miss anything.

There are a few dress up events this term and some exciting new whole family events:

Mr Lytton will be running a Family Science Night which you don’t want to miss, so book in as numbers will be limited and Mrs Ritson will be running some student/parent maths activities per year level. This will definitely help with improving your child's maths disposition and also help learn some games to improve their maths skills at home.

Welcome to PVNPS

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome some new staff to our fabulous school.

Welcome to:

Jared, who is the classrroom teacher for 5/6C

Max - Education Support Staff in 3/4C

Cybelle - Education Support Staff in Prep C

Welcome back to:

Ms Rachel in 3/4C on Thursdays and Fridays.

Mrs Carmichael in 3/4D on Monday-Wednesday

Farewell for now...

By the end of week Three Ms Kaila will be heading off to her parental leave before the birth of their baby number three! Good luck and can't wait to get the happy news and name of Baby.

Dimi is also leaving us for a long overdue, Overseas holiday (DIMI IS COMING BACK!). Dimi will be going on leave from week 4 until the end of the term. We wish Dimi the best fun on her adventures. Hopefully she will send us a picture or two!

Respect

It is with the best intentions for improved student focus and outcomes that I mention to you that one of our logical consequences for disrespect and unacceptable behaviours, if occurring within the classroom, is that the student is removed from the classroom.

If a student has already received some coaching and some attention via the teacher to seek if they need anything or to inform them of their disruptive behaviour and it still continues, we need to ensure that the learning for all the other students continues and therefore the student not learning and distracting the teacher and fellow peers will be asked to leave the classroom.

They will take some of the work with them to another classroom and this provides them with time to de-escalate or to understand that their behaviours are not acceptable for the classroom.

Our school has many rewards systems in place for students, along with a calm down corner and opportunities for students to be able to regulate their behaviours without the need for interrupting the learning of others.

We hope you understand that every student matters and our role is to ensure student learning and wellbeing at all times.

If you would like to discuss this further with myself or someone from the leadership team, please do not hesitate to do so.
