The service began last week on Thursday, 19th June, and will continue this week from Monday, 23rd June to Thursday, 26th June. Learning Expo – Friday 27th June
We are excited to invite all families to our Learning Expo on Friday, 27th June. Parents are warmly invited to visit classrooms at an updated time of between 1:30 pm to 1:50 pm to view the wonderful learning that has taken place throughout Term 2.
Following this, we will enjoy the Friday races from 1:50 pm to 2:10 pm, then gather for a special Assembly at 2:10 pm where we will farewell Mrs. Jennifer Roberts and celebrate her remarkable leadership over the last 8 years. The day will conclude with an afternoon tea from 2:40 pm to 3:10 pm.
Please ensure this important date is marked on your calendar, and we look forward to celebrating with you all!
Reports for This Semester
This semester, we will be sending student reports electronically via SimonEverywhere. This change allows for a more efficient and environmentally friendly way to share reports with families.
Instructions on how to access the reports will be sent home shortly, so please keep an eye out for them. If you have any questions or need assistance accessing the reports, feel free to contact the school.
We look forward to sharing the progress and achievements of our students with you!
St Peter’s Feast Day Mass & Baptism
We will celebrate St Peter’s Feast Day Mass on the last day of term 2, Friday, 4th July at 9:45am. All families are warmly invited to join us for Mass at St Kilian’s Church, followed by a morning tea back at school. We look forward to celebrating with you.
Leadership Change Announcement
Last Thursday, CESL Executive Director Kate Fogarty sent out an important announcement to staff and families regarding a change in our leadership structure at St. Peter’s. From the beginning of Term 3, St. Peter’s will transition from a Co-Principal leadership model to a single Principal model.
Jeremy Darmody will continue as Principal. Jeremy has shown unwavering commitment to our Catholic values, student growth, and the wellbeing of our community.
Sharee Whiteacre will remain as Acting Deputy Principal throughout 2025, and the permanent Deputy Principal: Learning & Student Growth role will be advertised in Term 3, to begin in 2026.
Thank you for your continued support as we move forward with these changes.
Professional Development with Rob Vingerhoets – Monday, 30th June
On Monday, 30th June, our staff will participate in a Professional Development (PD) session with Rob Vingerhoets, a renowned maths consultant and educator. Thanks to a Victorian grant, we are upskilling our staff in Maths differentiation.
Rob, with over 40 years of experience, has worked globally, including in New York City and Beijing, and will share his expertise in improving Maths instruction in primary schools. Teachers will spend half the day with Rob and the other half in their normal classrooms, supported by St. Peter’s casual relief teachers.
This opportunity will help strengthen our teaching practices and improve student learning in Maths.
Passion & Pathways Senior Unit Community Dinner
Next Thursday, 3rd July, our Year 5/6 classes will be hosting the Passion & Pathways Senior Unit Community Dinner holding 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm dinner sittings as part of their class project. The students have been preparing for this event throughout the term, working hard to plan, organise, and deliver a meaningful dinner for our school and local community.
Invitations are currently being sent out to some families within our school community and the local community to attend this wonderful event. We wish our Year 5/6 students the best of luck with their initiative and look forward to the success of this exciting project.
End of Term 2/Start of Term 3
A reminder that Friday, 4th July will mark the end of Term 2, with school finishing at 2:15 pm. We hope all our students enjoy a well-deserved break.
Term 3 will begin on Monday, 21st July, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting term of learning and growth.
A Moment in Prayer
In the scriptures last week we heard the lord’s prayer from Matthew, so it is fitting that this week our prayer is the Our Father:
Our Father,
Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
Amen.
God Bless,
Jeremy Darmody
