Year 1 Spotlight

Happy & Healthy!
This term, Year 1 students enjoyed their Inquiry incursion about Healthy Mind and Healthy Body with Supreme Incursions. They learned several mindfulness techniques, including breathing exercises and yoga, to help with emotional regulation.
Students were encouraged to adopt some of the techniques they learned at home and in the classroom to support them with emotional challenges or overstimulation.

Students have been working hard on writing information reports about animals and have enjoyed learning about animals’ diets, appearance, habitats, behaviours, and fun facts.
They have published their writing in the form of a book – and they look fabulous! Below is a book on koalas.
Year 1 students have also been focusing on playing safely in the yard. Many students have been engaging in imaginative games and playing in the sand. Together, they created a cooperative village made entirely from sand – see below.
