Neurodiversity Pride Day

Neurodiversity Pride Day

On Tuesday 1st July we will be celebrating Neurodiversity Pride Day.

Neurodiversity Pride Day a day is a day to celebrate the diversity of human brains and the unique strengths and perspectives that neurodivergent individuals bring. The day aims to raise awareness about neurodiversity and promote understanding and acceptance of different neurological conditions. Neurodiversity Pride Day also works to challenge negative stereotypes and misconceptions about neurodivergent individuals.

A small committee of Grade 6 students have worked with me to develop some lessons suitable for grades across the school.

Our theme for the day is:

‘Wear your comfy clothes to show that we are comfortable with the diversity of human brains'.

Everyone is encouraged to wear your most comfortable clothes for the day (no pyjamas or crocs please).

It’s recognised that days like this can sometimes cause anxiety. Please contact your child’s teacher, or one of the Wellbeing leaders, if you would like further support with this.

Some ideas for comfy clothes – wear your trackies, bring along your oodie, put on your fluffiest socks or beanie.
