Semester 1 Exams in Full Swing

Semester 1 exams are currently underway, and it has been heartening to see such a positive and focused approach from students across all year levels.

This year marks a significant milestone for our Year 9 students, who are sitting exams for the very first time. Their preparation and commitment have been outstanding, with many embracing the challenge as an opportunity for growth. As one student reflected, “Exams gave me a good reason to study,” while another shared, “Doing exams prior to Year 10 has been good to give us a taste.” These experiences are laying a strong foundation for future academic success, helping students build effective study habits early.

Our Year 10 and 11 students have also been working diligently, demonstrating maturity and focus in the lead-up to and during their exams. Year 12s faced a new experience this year with their first mid-year English exam. Students used every minute of the session, working right up until the end – a testament to their dedication and understanding of the importance of exam technique and time management.

Across the board, students have been making excellent use of proven study strategies, including practising with past exams, creating and using flash cards, quizzing each other, and even incorporating AI tools to receive feedback and test their understanding. These methods are building confidence, resilience and deeper learning.

Congratulations to all students and staff involved in preparing for and running the Semester 1 exams. The hard work, thoughtful planning, and commitment to excellence have been clearly evident, and we look forward to seeing the continued growth and learning that comes from this important academic experience.
