From the Principal

Dear Parents and Friends,

Living Our Values at Lysterfield Primary School

At Lysterfield Primary School, we are proud of the strong, positive culture that defines our community. Our Statement of Values and School Philosophy is the foundation of this culture and helps guide the way we learn, teach and grow together.

Our vision is to develop students who are curious about the world around them and confident in their knowledge and skills to succeed both now and in the future.

Our mission focuses on building strong foundations in literacy and numeracy while encouraging a deep curiosity about the world. We are committed to nurturing capable, thoughtful and well-rounded learners.

We strive to provide a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where all students feel a sense of belonging. Central to this is our belief in partnership; parents, carers, staff and students working together to ensure every child can thrive.

At the heart of everything we do are our five school values:

  • Teamwork – We collaborate to achieve more
  • Respect – We are considerate of ourselves, others and the environment
  • Aspire – We aim high and work hard
  • Community – We create a place where we all belong
  • Kindness – We take action to help others feel happy and valued

These values are more than just words. They are lived daily through classroom learning, assemblies, awards and everyday interactions across our school. They also guide the behaviour we expect from everyone in our community: students, staff, families and visitors.

We invite all families to revisit our Statement of Values and School Philosophy, available on our school website or from the office. By continuing to uphold these shared values, we can ensure that Lysterfield Primary remains a place where every learner feels safe, supported and inspired to do their best.

Exciting Changes Ahead – Kindergarten Construction Begins

We’re pleased to share that over the upcoming school holidays, the Grade 5 portable classroom will be relocated to make way for the construction of our brand-new kindergarten. This is the first step in an exciting project that will enhance our learning environment and strengthen the connection between early years and primary education at Lysterfield.

The portable is planned to be fully set up and ready for classes on Day 1 of Term 3, ensuring a smooth transition for our students. We will continue to keep families updated as this exciting development progresses.
