Our Lady's aspires to be a welcoming community unified by love, faith, hope and learning.

Term 2, Week 9

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week our Leadership Team has been speaking with our 2026 prep families. It is always a very important time in our school calendar and an opportunity to meet with our new and current families who will be joining our school community.

Congratulations to Ale and Ryan on the arrival of their daughter Charlotte Eliza. Wishing them all the best as they embark on the precious gift of parenthood.

On Wednesday evening our Year 5 students and families came together for our STEM community engagement evening. It was wonderful to see families engaging in critical thinking, problem solving and teamwork in such a fun and interactive way. Events like these strengthen the partnership between school and home and highlight the importance of STEM learning in developing problem-solving skills for the future. Thank you to all our Year 5 teachers and Mr Yacoub for organising such a successful evening and to our families for your enthusiastic participation!

This week has been a special time for our Year 4 students as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Eucharist on Sunday. They attended  a reflective Retreat Day on Tuesday, providing them with the opportunity to deepen their understanding of this sacred sacrament and what it means in their faith journey. On Thursday evening, families came together for our Eucharist Family Faith Night, an opportunity to share in prayer, learning, and preparation as we support our children through this meaningful milestone. It was an engaging and interactive evening as parents and students shared their memories and family traditions with each other. Thank you to our Year 4 teachers and Mr Iacopino for preparing our students for this important sacrament. We pray for our students during this significant moment in their spiritual lives. May they feel the love and presence of God as they take this next step in their faith, supported by their families, teachers, and parish community.

Mid year reports will be sent home via COMPASS on Friday 27th June. Our mid year parent teacher conversations will take place on Tuesday 1st July and Thursday 3rd July. Bookings are now open via COMPASS and we encourage all families to attend. These conversations provide a valuable opportunity to discuss your child’s progress, celebrate their achievements, and work together to set goals for the remainder of the year. We value the partnership between home and school and know that when we work together, our students thrive.

Last month, students from Years 3 to 6 participated in the Victoria Rocks Times Tables competition. Out of 227 participating schools, we are proud to announce that our school placed 52nd overall! A special congratulations goes to Ishan Divakaran, who was ranked 23rd, and Manraj Sandhu, who placed 30th out of an incredible 21,026 students. What an outstanding achievement! We would also like to congratulate Class 5B for achieving the highest class average in our school, followed closely by 6A and 4C. Well done to all the students who participated and contributed to our school's impressive performance. Your hard work and dedication truly paid off!

Starting next term, our canteen will be operating with a limited menu as Maryanne will be taking leave for the remainder of the year. We wish Maryanne all the best during her time away and safe travels. While we adjust to this change, we appreciate your understanding and support. A revised canteen menu will be updated and available via COMPASS Canteen Shop before the start of term.

We are currently in the process of changing our uniform supplier to LOWES in Broadmeadows. From the 14th July parents will be able to purchase all uniforms in store or online. We will no longer be carrying any uniforms at school apart from school hats and beanies. All online orders via COMPASS will cease by the end of this term. If you require any uniforms urgently please order prior to the end of term.

Due to the colder weather, our popular Super Dooper Tuesday will be put on hold until Term 4. In the meantime, we’ll be selling sour straps and pythons each Tuesday instead. All proceeds will go towards supporting our Year 6 Graduation celebrations. Thank you to all our wonderful parent volunteers who continue to give up their time to help make these fundraising efforts possible, we truly appreciate your support!
