School Council Report

School council met on Wednesday the 11th of June. 

The School Council endorsed the Annual Report in Term 1 and the quality assurance checks have now been completed. As such, the Annual Report will be presented to the school community on Wednesday 27th August at 6pm. All members of our school and local community are welcome to attend. The event will be held in the library, and it will be a great opportunity for all to see the recent refurbishments and updates to this learning space.

The School Souncil acknowledged and paid thanks to the community and sponsors for their support of our recent fundraiser "manning the gates at DMBFNC Mt Beauty home games." Thanks to the parents and students who volunteered their time, $5856.30 was raised! Rachel Fallon's enthusiasm was infectious, and we would not have raised this amount on the raffle without her on the gate!

The funds have been used to purchase a collection of XTM ski jackets, with thanks to Simon Rawlings at Kiewa Valley Snow Sports, for use for ski events and outdoor activities. We are looking forward to the students using them this season at Falls Creek. 

The school has been successful with a number of grants: 

• Kiewa Mitta Murray Community Enterprises - science laboratory furniture
• DET School Focused Youth Services - School of Play incursion for students, and staff pd sessions

The Student Executive will be conducting a student survey around uniform and collating data to present to the School Council and the revised Uniform policy with DET updates will be presented to the School Council for review. 

A number of exciting upcoming excursions and events were endorsed by School Council which includes participation in the ASSSTC event, and the Indonesian Debate. 

The next council meeting will be held on Wednesday the 13th of August.
