Community Dinner

This week, a second group of students volunteered at the Harvey Community Dinner which provides an evening meal to those in need.  It is a measure of our students’ understanding of community that they so readily volunteer to help out with these types of activities. Their enthusiastic involvement and willingness to help is always commended by the organisers of the dinner and something that we are proud of.

Thankyou to Oscar Tozer, Sally Mahony, Sandis Muizarajs, Zach Platell, Charli Smith, Felicity James, Patrick Kilrain and Mr Dyson for attending.

Vehicle Safety

Last weekend, we received the news of a serious vehicle rollover near Logues Brook Dam involving six young people, all from local schools. Among them was a recent Year 12 graduate from Harvey Ag.

Tragically, one young person lost their life in the accident. Our thoughts are with all those affected—especially the family of the deceased. Fortunately the others escaped with various serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

This accident is a reminder of the risks associated with driving.  Operating a vehicle requires full attention, responsibility and driving within the limits of experience and skill.

We encourage all families to have a conversation with their children about the importance of safety—both behind the wheel and as a passenger. These discussions can make a real difference in helping prevent future tragedies.

Have a great weekend
