Science

Level 5/6

In groups, students have been creating unique ways to represent and communicate their knowledge of circuits. As each groups' project was unique to their interests, so too were the presentations. Some of the approaches involved the use of Canva, Power point, physical posters, verbal communication and video creation. Each student had the opportunity to share and celebrate their hard work in science this term.

Level 3/4

This week students completed and shared posters they had made of their ultimate rocket design. Students will be launching their unlimited rockets on the last Tuesday of the term and further celebrating an end to tier physics investigations this year. If you would like to see a snapshot of the students' work there is a display set up in the hallway outside the gym, opposite classroom 0.

Level 2

Students have been completing their final Rube Goldberg machines this week, using ideas collected and generated over the past term. We also found some pulleys at the back of a cupboard and brought those out to explore in physics. Students will have Snapper videos and snapshots of their creations and can share those with families next time portfolios come out.

Level 1

Level 1 students missed science this week due to production. However, they performed beautifully and with such confidence that they should all feel very proud of themselves. Next week in science we will complete a physics self-reflection and watch each band's music video as we celebrate another term completed. Students band videos will be available to watch using the Specialist's QR code in the student's portfolios.

Prep

Prep students completed their toys this week and brought them home. Students shared their work with their peers, demonstrating to the class whether their toy used push forces or pull forces to work. Students also completed a self-reflection task about this term of physics and how confident they are with this terms scientific concept.

Garden Club

In garden club we planted potatoes. Students are very excited to see how quickly they grow.

Seeing the production come together and students' confidence grow each week has been a pleasure. Sooty also loved visiting a new place and getting lots of pats and cuddles all day!

Until next time, remember to act like a proton and stay positive!
