Senior Winter Gala Day #2:
Last week saw the Senior Students complete their second gala day for the term. All the students displayed great skill and determination, but most importantly, played with a smile on their faces and represented CHPS so well, showing respect for all opposition and officials.
Congratulations to Soccer Mix C & Netball Mixed C who won their pool and our school a pennant. Congratulations also to our Girls Netball A team and Mixed Netball A, who won their pool and will progress through to the District Finals in Term Three. Thank you once again to all of our parent helpers for their help on the day.
Hawthorn Football Club – Special Visit: On Monday, our year 5 and 6 students were lucky enough to get a school visit from Hawthorn footballers, Mitch Lewis, Harry Morrison, Will McCabe, Finn Maginnes, and Jack Ginnivan. The students got a 45-minute Q&A session with the players, and some of our lucky Hawks fans were able to get some of their items signed.
Term 3 – Year 3-6 House Athletics Carnival:

Please email laura.yorke@education.vic.gov.au if you are able to assist on Friday, 8th August.
Location: Yarra Ranges Athletics Track, Morrison Reserve, Mt. Evelyn.
Time: 9:00 – 2:30 pm
Please consent and pay for the event on Compass.

Library News
Next term we will be celebrating Children’s Book Week from August 18 – 22. The theme this year is Book An Adventure and we will be having a whole school Dress Up Day on Monday 18 August where you can come dressed as one of your favourite book characters. You could create something over the holidays, use things you already have at home in your wardrobe or recycle an old costume. There will also be author visits from Heidi McKinnon and Michael Wagner and lots of fun activities throughout the week. If you have any overdue library books at home please drop these into the Library before the end of the term. Have a great break and try to find time to relax and read some books.
