Principal's Message

This weekend, we come together in joy and support as twelve of our Year 6 students celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation. This is a deeply meaningful moment in the Catholic Church and a significant step in the lives of these students as they commit to living more fully through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Confirmation strengthens the presence of the Holy Spirit in a person’s life, helping them grow in faith and in their relationship with God. Through this Sacrament, they receive the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, wisdom, understanding, right judgment, courage, knowledge, reverence, and wonder and awe. These gifts guide them in making good choices and being thoughtful, kind, and brave in the way they live each day.

When we use these gifts, we begin to show the Fruits of the Holy Spirit, the visible signs of God at work within us. These fruits are not only for those receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation, but are qualities all of us can grow in our daily lives, no matter our faith background.

Here’s how we can each live them out in our school community

  • Love – Show love by including others, being a good friend, and treating everyone with care and respect.

  • Joy – Share joy by celebrating the successes of others and bringing a positive attitude to the classroom and playground.

  • Peace – Be a peacemaker by using kind words to solve problems and helping others when they’re upset or hurt.

  • Patience – Practice patience by waiting your turn, being understanding when others make mistakes, and trying again when learning feels tricky.

  • Kindness – Be kind by offering help, giving compliments, or simply smiling at someone who might need it.

  • Goodness – Choose what is right, even when no one is watching. This means being honest, fair, and trustworthy.

  • Faithfulness – Be reliable and committed, turn up each day ready to learn, and keep promises you make to others.

  • Gentleness – Speak and act with gentleness, especially when someone is having a hard day. Use soft voices and open hearts.

  • Self-control – Use self-control by thinking before you act, managing your emotions, and staying focused when it’s learning time.

As a school community, we are all on a journey of growing into the best version of ourselves. The Fruits of the Holy Spirit guide us on how we can treat one another and build a strong, caring, and respectful school environment.

To our Year 6 Confirmation candidates, we congratulate you on this sacred step and pray that the Holy Spirit continues to guide you with strength, wisdom, and joy. May your journey inspire all of us, students, staff, and families, to grow in faith, character, and community spirit.

Let’s continue to walk together with hope and love.

This term has felt like a long one, with the colder weather settling in and the pace of school life steadily building. The upcoming break is a wonderful opportunity to pause, reset, and recharge for the term ahead. Personally, I love these holidays, it’s an excuse to stay indoors by the fireplace! In my house, we enjoy slow mornings, learning new card games as a family, and best of all having a break from extracurricular activities, such as football, netball and basketball (not to mention having a break from making school lunches).

We know that this term has asked a lot of our students and families and we are truly grateful for the hard work, perseverance, and kindness you continue to show. Whether it’s supporting learning at home, attending school events, or simply showing up each day with a smile, your contributions make our school a vibrant and connected community.

We encourage everyone to make the most of the holidays, rest well, have fun, and take time to do the things you enjoy. Whether you're heading away, enjoying time at home, or catching up with friends and loved ones, we hope it brings you joy and happiness.

Thank you for all you bring to our community. We look forward to welcoming you back in Term 3, refreshed, re-energised, and ready for new adventures in learning together.
