Our students are doing so well with the SWPBS rewards, the tree is looking very healthy.

This week I popped into Zoe Carney's VCE Health and Human Development. As a class they have been studying Health and human development in a global context. The students were reading an article about a child marriage that had occurred, they then researched which countries still allowed this to occur.  It is hard to believe that this still occurs in the world and important for our students to understand health beyond our shores.

I joined the FLO students who were investigating what you may need to know and do when you leave school. They were researching how much it would cost to find a shared living in Bendigo. We were able to have a great chat about what you may be looking for in terms of accommodation and how shared living can be tricky. I've also enjoyed their creative work on the fairy tree.

Grade 5/6 fuelled me after an intense learning session completed on the school budget. After crunching the numbers for a couple of hours I came back to a bowl of the most amazing pumpkin lasagna and delicious pumpkin bread. When I visited the class to thank them, I was impressed to hear they had even made the lasagna sheets. I would highly recommend making each of these recipes at home. I will miss these lunches when I leave.

Victoria High Ability Program

Tom and Tom are quite a way into their program. Currently they are learning to understand ciphers by:

§ identifying patterns within written language.

§ exploring classic substitution ciphers.

§ reflecting on ways to make and break a secret message.

I have been super impressed by their engagement in the program. They are usually the first to find solutions and offer suggestions. Very good role models for the College.
