Principal's Report

By Carolyn Serpell

Families are advised that the first Monday of Term 3, Monday 21st July, will be a pupil free day, while teachers undertake professional learning.  OSHC will be providing care for all families who require this, however bookings are essential.

To celebrate the last day of term, tomorrow, students are welcome to come dressed in their PJs (with plenty of warm layers!).  This is an optional event and students do not require a gold coin donation.  A reminder that school will also finish at the earlier time of 2.30pm.

On Monday, we enjoyed a wonderful performance, celebrating our student's learning in music, this semester.  Thank you to everyone who joined us for this very special event and a massive thank you and congratulations to Emily and students on putting together such a wonderful performance! 'Playing in Pitch' has unanimously been voted as being one of our best with high praise from attending staff, families and members of the Year 7 music class, who joined us on the day.

On Tuesday, the final match in our lunchtime netball competition was held.  Congratulations to all students on their participation and sportsmanship, and a big thank you to Kathryn for her coaching, organisation and umpiring over the term.  The grand final was hard fought, and it was great to see strong development of student skills and team work.  In the end, it was the black team who took out the 2025 premiership.

Although it wasn't all blue skies, today Years 5 & 6 participated in their 3rd and final day of downhill skiing/snowboarding program. Despite more challenging snow and weather conditions, everyone coped really well and had a great day! A big thank you again to Steph for her organisation, and to Sheepy for assisting with transport, along with all our volunteers for their support with this program.  We have all agreed that the early program has provided a great experience for our students, with the added bonus of reduced queue lines and great snow!

Next term, years 3-6 will combine for a 3 day cross country skiing program.  If you haven't already done so, please see your child's event page on Compass to consent/decline and process payment.  Weather permitting, the program will commence on Friday 25th July.

Thank you to those families who have returned their Dental forms for the Smile School Dental program. If you haven't already done so, please complete and return the form to school by the end of school, tomorrow.

As our term draws to a close, I would like to extend my appreciation of our staff and all that they have done to support student learning, health and well-being over the term.  Many thanks also to all our families for your continued partnership in this, which is so greatly appreciated.   I hope that everyone enjoys a happy and safe holiday break and I look forward to seeing staff on the 21st July and students and families on Tuesday the 22nd July!

Please note that student's semester reports may now be viewed on Compass.  If your child is exiting the school for term 3, please download all reports that you require.
