Production & Term Events

Wow! What an amazing Production we witnessed in the first week of term, it certainly was a great Knight! Once again, thank you to all the incredible students who performed so well, we are so proud of each and every one of you. A special thank you to Emma and the Production team for all the time and effort they put into making the show such a success. Thank you also to our wonderful Art teachers, Jacinta and Sarah, for organising all of the student costumes and props.

Busy Term 3

We have an exciting Term ahead, with plenty of wonderful events and activities already completed and many more to come!

Over the past two weeks, we’ve celebrated 100 Days of Foundation, enjoyed a Level 4 Bunnings incursion, marked the National Day of Friendship, and cheered on our 5/6 Division Tee Ball team as they competed at the divisional level.

Coming up this Wednesday is our 3–6 Athletics Day, all parents and family members are warmly invited to come along and support the students. And don’t forget, our much-anticipated Trivia Night is happening this Saturday, 9th August!

Later in the Term, our Foundation students will visit Healesville Sanctuary,  Level 1 students will visit the Melbourne Museum and IMAX, while Level 2 students will explore the Botanical Gardens. We’ll be celebrating both Science Week and Book Week, which includes the always-popular Book Parade. Students will also have the chance to take part in Junior Hooptime Basketball, and we’ll be holding our annual Father’s Day Stall.

Level 3 students will be heading off to camp at Mt Evelyn, Level 5 students will enjoy a reptile incursion and we’ll wrap up the Term with our Three-Way Conferences.

It’s shaping up to be a fun, busy, and memorable Term for our whole school community!

Staffing Update

We are excited to welcome back Lisa Pond this term after her maternity leave. Lisa will continue teaching Japanese, a role she has held for many years at HEPS. Last Term, we farewelled a long-serving staff member, Brian Clarke. We thank Brian for his many wonderful years of teaching at HEPS and for the positive impact he has had on so many students. We wish him all the best as he begins a new chapter living in country Victoria. We are excited to welcome back John Exton from his long service leave. John has returned to teach Level 6, and we know the students have enjoyed having him back. A big thank you to Sally Rochford for the fantastic job she has done teaching in John’s absence. Sally is now teaching Gen Edgell's (6GE) class for the next 6 weeks while Gen is on long service leave.

100 Days of School for Foundation Students

Last Tuesday our Foundation students celebrated 100 days of school with excitement and joy. They took part in a range of fun, hands-on activities that highlighted their learning journey so far. Teachers joined in the festivities, creating a vibrant and memorable day that celebrated the students' growth and achievements.

Every Day Counts

We are continuing to monitor student attendance closely and have contacted families where attendance is low or of concern. Regular school attendance is essential for both academic progress and social development. Missing even a few days can impact learning and routines.

We encourage families to avoid holidays during the school term and to ensure children return to school as soon as they are well. Thank you to all families who support strong attendance habits, and please speak with your child’s teacher if you need any assistance.
